Paul John Bold is a peated single malt from Goa, India, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It is made from six-row barley grown in the foothills of the Himalayas together with peated malt imported from Scotland, at about 25 ppm. The spirit is double distilled in copper pot stills and matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels.
The nose is gentle peat smoke with honey, cocoa and tropical fruit. The palate pairs peat with dark chocolate, caramel, mocha and spiced honey, plus mango and pineapple. The finish is long and warming, with peat, a little sea salt and sweet barley.
