Redbreast 21 Year Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey from the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle and non-chill filtered. It is triple distilled in copper pot stills from malted and unmalted barley.
The whiskey matures for at least 21 years in first-fill American bourbon barrels and first-fill Spanish Oloroso sherry butts.
The nose offers ripe mango, baked peach, candied citrus peel, vanilla and marzipan, with cinnamon and clove. The palate is velvety, with fig, sultana, toasted hazelnut and buttery caramel, lifted by gentle pot still spice. The finish is exceptionally long.
