Rossville Union Master Crafted Rye is a 5-year-old straight rye whiskey from MGP in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, bottled at 47% ABV in a 750ml bottle. Rossville Union is the distillery's own label.
It marries two mashbills: one of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, the other of 51% rye, 45% corn and 4% malted barley. Both are aged for at least five years in new charred American oak barrels before blending.
The nose is rye spice, red pepper, ginger and sweet caramel. The palate opens with candied dark fruit and berries, then caramel, vanilla taffy and honey, with oak, leather and cocoa. The finish is long and warming, with rye spice, dried dark fruit, oak and pepper.
