Rossville Union Straight Rye 5 Year Old (70cl, 47%)

This is Rossville Union Straight Rye Whiskey, aged for 5 years and bottled at 47% abv in a 70cl bottle. It is made at the Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, where Rossville Union rye has been produced since 1847. It combines two distillates with different mashbills: one of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, the other of 51% rye, 45% corn and 4% malted barley. The nose offers fine caramel sweetness with spicy nuances. On the palate there are hints of smoke, spice and fruit.
