Ryuka Early Summer 2026 is a cask-strength Japanese single malt from Shinzato Distillery in Okinawa, made with British malted barley and bottled at 58% ABV.
It was distilled in March 2023 and bottled in April 2026. Maturation took place in a refill Oloroso sherry awamori cask and a Spanish virgin oak cask. Okinawa's subtropical climate gives strong cask influence over a short maturation.
The nose is mellow, with cinnamon, sweet azuki paste, toffee and a touch of fresh honeydew melon. The mouthfeel is creamy, leading to a smooth, long finish of dense caramel syrup.
