This is a young single malt from Shinzato Distillery in Okinawa, made with British malted barley and bottled at 58% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in November 2024 and bottled in May 2026.
It matured in first-fill Spanish virgin oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry and Bourbon. Okinawa's subtropical climate gives short maturation a strong cask influence.
The nose is fresh, with Nikkei bark, grassy notes and a touch of green apple. The palate is oily, with zesty orange peel leading to woody sweetness, and the finish is cool with oriental spices.
