Smoke Wagon Private Barrel 8 Year Bourbon (75cl, 56.5%)

Smoke Wagon Private Barrel is an eight-year-old single barrel bourbon, bottled at cask strength of around 56.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The strength varies from barrel to barrel. The spirit was distilled at MGP in Indiana from a high-rye mashbill of 51% corn, 39% rye and 10% malted rye. It was then aged in a century-old brick warehouse in the Las Vegas desert, where hot days and cool nights push it in and out of the charred oak. It is bottled unblended and non-chill-filtered by Nevada H&C Distilling Co. The nose offers cherry preserves, stewed plum, black pepper and brown sugar. Dark cherry, grilled peach, baking spice and caramel lead the palate, and the finish is long and warming with oak, cherry and pepper.
