This is a Colorado American single malt whiskey from Stranahan's, bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle and non-chill filtered. It is a collaboration with local Colorado breweries.
New American oak barrels first aged Stranahan's malted barley whiskey for four to six years. They were then sent to the breweries to hold coffee stouts, barley wines and Belgian quads. Back at the distillery, the barrels were filled with a blend of four to six year old single malt, which was finished in them for a further 18 months.
The nose is raisin, fig, chocolate-covered orange and espresso. The palate brings chocolate malt, dark berries, hazelnut and brown sugar. The finish is medium, thick and dry, with roasted malt and dark chocolate.
