Stranahan's Mountain Angel 12 Year is a Colorado single malt whiskey from Denver, bottled at 47.3% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is made from 100% malted barley.
The first nine years are spent in new American oak barrels. The whiskey then spends a further three years in ruby Port casks from Portugal.
The nose is caramelised nectarine, fig paste, lavender, dark chocolate and coconut. The palate brings blueberry compote, ginger lemon tart, baking spices and toasted oak, and the finish is long, with vanilla wafer, mature oak and a maduro cigar wrapper note.
