Suntory Kakubin Yellow Label is a blended Japanese whisky, first released in 1937. Kakubin means square bottle in Japanese. It combines malt and grain whiskies, with the malt coming from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, and it is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It is often served as a highball or mizuwari, which is whisky cut with water, and it is also drunk neat or over ice.
The nose is light and fruity, with apple, lemon and honey. The palate is smooth and mellow with a touch of sweetness, spice and oak, leading to a medium-length finish with lingering sweetness.
