Tincup Rye is a three-year-old American rye whiskey in a 750ml bottle. It was distilled at MGP in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, from a mashbill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley.
After ageing, the whiskey travelled to Colorado, where it was reduced to 45% ABV with Rocky Mountain water drawn at 5,251 feet above sea level. The brand takes its name from a historic mining town in the Colorado Rockies.
The nose is sweet vanilla and fresh tobacco leaf, with baking spice and a little mint. On the palate it is smooth, with pepper, baking spice, maple syrup and a gentle herbal note. The finish is of moderate length, with caramel sweetness and a silky, tannic feel.
