Wild Turkey 12 Year Old Distiller’s Reserve is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 50.5% (101 proof) in a 70cl bottle. It returned in 2022 as an export release.
The mashbill is 75% corn, 13% rye and 12% malted barley, and the bourbon is aged for at least twelve years in charred oak barrels, which give it a rich amber colour. It reflects the work of Jimmy and Eddie Russell, who have run the distillery for decades.
The nose is warm vanilla with caramel, baking spice and a touch of citrus. Vanilla, caramel, oak and baking spices follow on the palate, and the finish is long, with spice and oak.
