Willett – Kentucky Vintage Small Batch Bourbon Sour Mash (70cl, 45%)

Kentucky Vintage is a small batch Kentucky straight bourbon made by the sour mash method at Willett and bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtering or added colour. Willett marries two of its own mash bills: 85% from one made of 72% corn, 13% rye and 15% malted barley, and 15% from a more corn-heavy recipe of 79% corn, 7% rye and 14% malted barley. Each matures separately for four to six years in new charred American oak barrels and is blended afterwards. The nose is sweet vanilla and ripe fruit with oak. The palate is buttery and sweet, with candied corn set against oak, and the finish holds fine wood and spice.
