Willett – Old Bardstown Bourbon (70cl, 45%)

A Kentucky straight bourbon bottled as a small batch at 45% ABV, or 90 proof. It follows the original bourbon recipe of the Willett family, with a mash bill of 72% corn, 13% rye and 15% malted barley. The spirit goes into new casks at 125 proof, or 62.5% ABV. Old Bardstown was the first bourbon of the Willett family, and its name recalls a racehorse of Calumet Farm. It is distilled, matured and bottled in Bardstown, Kentucky. The nose combines caramel, oak and vanilla with a touch of floral notes and honey-roasted nuts. On the palate come buttery notes and dried citrus fruit. The medium finish is clean and dry, with caramel, vanilla and toasted oak.
