Yamazaki 12 Years is a Japanese single malt from the Yamazaki Distillery, described as the first and oldest malt distillery in Japan. It is the flagship single malt of Suntory, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV.
The colour is a pure gold, and the whisky is layered with fruit and the aroma of Mizunara, Japanese oak.
The nose brings peach, pineapple, grapefruit, clove, candied orange and vanilla. On the palate there is coconut, cranberry and butter, and the finish is long, with sweet ginger and cinnamon.
